Do you make time for God as a family?

Getting up in the morning and finding my kitchen clean, seeing the kids clothes laid out and ready to go, and homeschool assignments for the day neatly laid out really makes a day a lot less frazzled and a lot more joyful.

BUT, if the spiritual health of your home is not in a good place, that can make more of a negative impact then any dirty dishes in the sink, wardrobe battles and messy book piles ever could!

I can see the difference in our day when we sit together as a family and do a devotion (or Bible Time as it is called in our home) before my husband heads out for the day. When we sit and do our devotions, our day is begun with singing praises to God, and each of us taking turns praying for one another. What a great way to start the day! Now life does happen and we do not get to do it everyday. You can feel it on the days we don't. We did not set that spirit for the day.

I just want to encourage you today to make time for God in your day. As a family, take 10 minutes before everyone goes their separate ways and make sure everyone is covered in prayer. It's a beautiful time of bonding not only with the Lord, but as a family.

A family that prays together, stays together!
